Setting Your DVR to Record Before and After a Scheduled Show Time

Once you have set a show to record on your DVR, you might want to add "padding" time to the start and/or end of the recording. This could be helpful when a show begins a few minutes before the scheduled start time in the guide.  Another reason you may want to add time to the end of the show, is that there could be a sneak peak for the next episode. Sport events are also a good reason to add time to the beginning and end of the program because of overtime. DVR recordings are set to the scheduled time on the guide.  If a game were to go into overtime that time is not set in the guide. Therefore, you may want to add 30 minutes to the end of your recording so you don't miss the overtime action!

Setting up a Recording

  1. Find a program in the guide you want to record. Highlight it and press OK on the remote.

  2. Select Record Program from the menu. Your program is now set to record.

Adding time before and after to the recording

  1. Select a show from the guide that is set to be recorded and push OK on the remote.

  2. From the menu select Edit Recording and push OK on the remote.

  3. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW KEYS to choose START or END and press OK. Once you see arrowheads above and below the START or END box, use the UP and DOWN ARROW KEYS to adjust the START time or END time.  You can choose 1, 5, 30 or 60 minutes before or after to record. After you have set both times push OK at the bottom.
